Divan Beds For A Permanent Place To Sleep
There are a large number of different beds available on the market these days, so far I have only really talked about the futon bed on this site, but if you are looking for a permanent place to sleep then a fold out sofa bed really isn’t going to be an option for you. So this is where divan beds come in, these have been a favorite for many years and still seem to be a really popular option.
What Is The Divan?
So what are divan beds? A divan is made up of two main parts, the mattress and the base. The base is made up using a strong wooden frame. Sometimes this base will contain extra springs for added comfort or it can have a solid wooden top, it is then covered with a material which will normally match the décor of the room, or the mattress cover.
The empty base of the divan bed can be really useful for storage. Many of them will be made to have drawers built in for extra storage, the norm for kingsize or double divan beds is to have two drawers on either side of the frame, each just less than half the length of the bed, though single divan beds also offer you quite a substantial amount of storage. This offers a huge amount of extra storage for your bedroom. Sometimes instead of having drawers on the side the whole top of the base will come off and offer the whole base as storage, although this isn’t ideal for items that you are going to need on a regular basis, but if there are things that you aren’t going to need all that often then its a great place to keep them out of the way.
How Do I Get One In My Home?
If you live in a small house or apartment and you are worried about how you would get a king size divan bed into your home, there is no need to worry, many of the bases for these beds are actually made in several parts, so can be broken down in to pieces and easy taking into your home then built up in your bedroom. If, once the bed is built up, you need to move it around your room, most of them will have casters on the bottom, making it really simple to move it around.
Mattress Choice
When it comes to choosing a mattress for you divan bed you can pretty much go for any mattress you want as long as it matches the size of the base. You don’t want to buy a mattress that is either too small or too big, so getting a perfect size is important. This means that you can go for any mattress you would normally go for, whether that is a memory foam mattress, a pocket sprung mattress or whatever you normally go for.
Why Use Divan Beds?
So why would you want to buy divan beds? Because of the amount of storage that is offered by the divan bed, this is the perfect bed if your bedroom, or your home, is lacking is storage. The drawers in the bed is perfect for keeping extra bedding and also winter clothes or bath towels, you could store anything really. More often than not divan beds are made to a really high quality, if you invest a decent amount of money in a divan you can be sure that they are going to last you for many, many years. Don't let this make you think that all divan beds are expensive, there are cheap divan beds too, if you don't want to get a lower quality item you could just wait until the sale seasons start and get yourself a bargain.
